For experienced leaders around Skanderborg

Carry on? Turn?

You have solid ground under your feet. People rely on you, and the account of your good years looks fine from the outside. Yet one thought keeps returning: is this still the road I want to be on? This page explains how evening sessions in English can give that question room.

Join the waiting listThe main site is in Danish.

About this site: it describes online conversations with the psychologist Frank. The sessions are offered by djursland-psykologen.dk, and that is where you sign up.

Language and format

The sessions can be held in English. For people in Skanderborg, online is the main route: you speak with the psychologist from home or from a quiet room, with no travel after a long day. In-person evening sessions are also possible in Mørke on Djursland.

You have a fixed weekly evening and the same psychologist throughout. Capacity is limited, so there is usually a waiting list, and no start date can be promised. Signing up carries no obligation.

What mid-career can look like

Typically between forty and fifty-five, you are good at what you do, and it has taken years to get here. That is exactly why the question is hard to voice: doubting something that has worked can feel ungrateful. You may recognise the meeting where you are present while another part of you is elsewhere, or the Sunday evening when Monday's calendar brings quiet reluctance rather than energy.

None of this means you must resign, sell or move. It means something in you wants to be heard, and it is wise to listen before everyday life closes over it again.

What you can focus on

The sessions can make room for telling tiredness from direction, putting words to your values, looking at the stories you have lived by, and the difficult choices around changing course. The conversations are not steered towards a particular result. Staying, changing and waiting are all legitimate outcomes.

Typical clients are leaders and directors, founders, busy professionals and international profiles who find it easier to talk about personal matters in English.

About Frank

Frank is an authorised psychologist (autoriseret psykolog), qualified at Aarhus University in 2005 and authorised in 2011. His authorisation ID is 0H2Y3, and you can look him up in the Danish Authorisation Register. He has worked as a crisis psychologist and professional lead, and he has been CEO of a venture-funded high-tech start-up, with international sales and scaling in his daily work. He has held responsibility for strategy, finances and staff in both the public and private sectors.

His approach is integrative and humanistic, combining relational, narrative and existential perspectives with elements of cognitive behavioural therapy. Everything you say is covered by the psychologist's duty of confidentiality.

Questions and answers

Does thinking about a change mean I am in crisis?

No. Many people who sign up are capable, respected and doing well on the outside. Asking what the next years should hold is part of an ordinary stage of working life and does not mean that anything has gone wrong.

Do the sessions have to end with a new job?

No. They are not steered towards any particular outcome. Some people stay on new terms, some decide it is time to move on, and many first need to understand what is really pulling at them.

Does my GP find out?

No. Your GP is not informed, and neither are the municipality, your partner or spouse, or your employer. The sessions are private, need no referral, and are covered by the psychologist's duty of confidentiality under Danish law.

Can my company pay for it?

Yes. Many people have the invoice paid by their company or employer, and you can of course pay yourself. The practical page on the main site (in Danish) has the details.

Where do I start if I cannot put it into words?

Start with the vague part. When you join the waiting list you are asked to say briefly what you are looking for, and you do not need a finished explanation or a plan for the first session.
